The Related Record Update allows to update related records using workflows. It is most commonly used where we want to update an address of organization if the linked contacts’ address has been updated.
VTiger Related Record Update extension allows creating fields of workflow and map to be updated from Contact to Organization AND vise versa. It supports custom & standard fields as well as modules. VTiger Related Record Update Extension is designed to allow data to be updated back to the primary records.
The extension maps the updated record working on the basis of Workflow. To setup a Workflow for Related Records Update extension you’d need to fill in the information as below:
Step 1 – Schedule Workflow:
Select Module: The module of your choice goes here
Description: Add the Workflow name
Specify when to execute this Workflow: Set the field to “Every time a record is modified”.
Step 2 – Add Conditions:
Add desired conditions for the Workflow to be executed. You can select from
All Conditions: runs the Workflow if all of the configured conditions are met
Any Conditions: runs the Workflow if any of the configured condition is met
Step 3 – Add Tasks:
Add To Do: Select Related Record Update Task
In the Add To Do block, configure the following settings:
Task title: The heading of the task.
Status: Activate/Deactivate the task
Add Mapping: The mapping of data/fields from one module to another.
Checking the Integrity
To run the configured Workflow through extension, go to the module set in the settings. Then modify the field configured. Check the related field where mapping leads to, the record would be updated automatically.
